the last unicorn
if i was truly hardcore i would probably get a half sleeve dedicated to this wonderful movie and book.
i got my unicorn tattoo a year ago and it was a thrilling experience- for about 3 years i fantasized about getting it done…even looking at my old sketchbooks you can see my amalthea(her “human” name) doodles everywhere..
i watched the movie at the age of about 4.5..my mom knew i loved unicorns and all the girly things and decided to tape it for me. i watched it endlessly , enjoying every little bit of its dark and beautiful animation.
years later when i started becoming a grumpy teen, i found out about the existence of the book. i didnt know the movie was based on a novel and i looked for it everywhere. but , in israel there was no translated version or even in english. eventually when i went with my mother to the u.s i bought it at b&n..i was thirteen .
i am now almost 20..
for years it goes with me. everytime i hear the theme song im exited, like i have seen the love of my life.
the last unicorn symbolizes growing up, womanhood and adulthood. its about broken hearts and regrets and acceptance that things will never be the same but still keep on holding on. its about being an anomaly between the crowd where you feel like everyone is the same.its about looking for yourself and discovering it in unpredictable ways.going away from the safe environment in the persuite for truth.
and i dont think i will ever regret getting her on my entire left cap.i am complete with it. if i were a true kickass hardocre dumbass- i would go for a half sleeve dedicated to it.
i hope someday to hug peter.s.beagle and thank him!

did you know that a boob job in israel is about 12000 ILS? which is 3248$.. how super duper fantastic is that. its also the same for a breast reduction.

god, i think the way they make these weird animal movies goes like this:
*random pre pre pre production meeting*
“ok so ..we need a new movie idea…everyone, write down random words plus your favorite animal and put it inside this hat”
*all the production members write and place their notes in the hat*
*10 minuts after*
“ok so we got this: otters,owls, magic mountain, door,vulva,panda bears,alcohol,corgi dogs”
*after 15 minutes of thinking *
“ok guys here goes : the chosen one,the owl - needs to fight his tribe’s sworn enemies - the evil pandas and the alcoholic corgis over at magic mountin, there the owl must find the amulet of vulva and take it back home so it could open the door of goodness andthe war will end”
random animator: “uh..so..i dont get it.at all”
